Weekly Snippet

Last Week…

Was an impressive week in the markets amidst the recent volatility.  ALL equities were up from the previous week across the globe – and not just a little:

In the US:

  • Technology and Small Growth were both up over 3%!
  • Large Growth, Health Care, Large Value, and Mid Growth were up over 2%
  • Mid Value and Small Value were both up over 1.5%
  • Real Estate – both US and Global were up over 1%

In Foreign markets:

  • Foreign Equities were all up over 1%
  • Emerging Markets up 2.48%

Commodities barely moved and nothing exciting happened in Fixed Income. The biggest movement in bonds was a .49% increase for Emerging Markets Bonds.

The pattern? Those doing best this year, saw greatest gains, while YTD sleepers gained least. In other words, volatility worked in one direction for all equities—up, without shuffling positions YTD. Hmm…

Have a great weekend!
